The Chalice

I found this cursed cup long ago, when I was still young and enjoyed exploring the caves near my house. I had been deeper than I thought possible for an young explorer as myself, when I stumbled upon what seemed like a recently perished corpse, it was clutching the most beautiful cup, which I picked up and carried to my house and hid well from all who might happen upon it. Then I called the authorities to report the body I found in the cave. They came and investigated and after a few weeks they had done some testing and found that not a missing person in a 1000 mile area fit its profile. A team from the university came out eventually to study the body and made a discovery that the corpse would never be found on record because it was that of primative man.

The body looked not long dead, perhaps a year at most. They searched the cave to see what may have preserved the body so well, and they found that in that cave the body should have decomposed quicker than the normal rate. They continued their studies of the cave and others nearby, which limited my exploration, but I did not care, for I was fasinated with the cup I found, with the seven gems in it, all a different colour. Oh, the gold was wrought with excellent craftsmen ship. I never gave a thought to why a caveman would have have such a beautiful cup, that is, until the dreams started.
